Cactus Skincare Philosophy
Our philosophy for creating burstingly healthy skin encompasses a three phase approach.

The first is to seal skin to moisture loss. Moisture rises through the deeper layers of the skin and then evaporates unless it is sealed at the skin's surface. In youth our skin produces high levels of sebum, which protects and seals the skin. As we mature, it produces less sebum and as a consequence, collagen and elastin fibres shrink, causing fine lines and wrinkles. Our moisturiser must simulate youthful skin conditions.

The second is to penetrate the dermis. Vitamins, minerals and lipids are delivered deep into the skin by natural oils with a molecular structure so fine that they are able to carry the antioxidants into the dermis where they are needed.

The third is restoration, healing and anti-aging. The use of high-level antioxidants affects a significant level of restoration from sun damage and aging. Antioxidants give the skin enough of a rest from fighting free radicals that the skin has the opportunity to heal and restore itself. However, they must be used in high volume in the formulation to achieve the results that Cactus Skincare delivers. We use natural oils such as Apricot Kernel that have a known molecular structure that penetrates deep into the dermis to make sure that delivery of the goods is made. You can expect rich levels of Vitamins A, D, E C, and B group which bring the skin into blooming condition and assist healing problematic skin.

How to identify a good moisturiser A moisturiser should leave a fine, dewy film on your skins surface that remains for several hours. If a product appears to disappear into the skin without leaving a fine film, you can be certain the formulation is too light for you. Effectively what you are seeing is evaporation of the water content. This is true even for oily skin that requires a balance rather than under or over production of oil.
